Products & services
Edwards Energy offers a complete service to assess the problem,
set up the calculation or CFD simulation, interpret the results,
advise on measurement techniques, and work with the client to develop
innovative but practical design solutions, and/or to optimise the
existing process.
CFD simulation is a powerful tool, but it is essential to be able
to extract the crucial information that tells you whether one case
result is actually better than another; looking at graphic flow
visualisations is not always enough. Specialised application modules
attached to PHOENICS have been developed in-house to do this. These
enable the most relevant performance information to be extracted
from the simulation. Special techniques are used to incorporate
empirical formulae and/or model subscale features.
Application Modules are available for:
* Batch Autoclaves. with free or fan circulation.
Detailed predictions of the distribution of gas and product temperature
and time histories at selected points to locate and eliminate product
quality variations.
The module can handle free or fan circulation and very high gas
pressures. It can also be applied to packed beds, ovens, kilns and
pyrolysis reactors.
* Steam Condensers.
This simulation predicts overall performance and pinpoints air accumulation
zones, enabling optimisation of lane & baffle layouts. This
is best done early in the design process before the design becomes
too complex, as it has often shown that simplified and less costly
layouts give excellent performance, resulting in a more competitive
design. However validation of proposed modifications to existing
units have also been successfully performed.

Policy
Edwards Energy is completely independent and does not aim to promote
a particular product or service, but to provide advice which maximises
value for money for the client, and will not recommend more detailed
analyses than are really necessary. Work is charged hourly or on
fixed maximum price
